AHA BHA PHA
AHA BHA PHA – these are types of chemical exfoliants that are often included in skin care products. Each of these types of exfoliants has its own effect on improving skin texture and tone.
AHAs (alpha-hydroxy acids) – These are water-soluble acids, usually derived from fruit acids, such as glycolic, lactic, and malic. They help remove the top layer of skin and stimulate cell renewal, which helps reduce the appearance of wrinkles and age spots.
BHA (beta-hydroxy acids) – These are fat-soluble acids, usually derived from salicylic acid. They effectively cleanse pores and remove excess sebum, helping to prevent acne and improve skin texture.
PHA (polyhydroxy acids) – this is a group of acids that are the least irritating to the skin, so they are often recommended for people with sensitive skin. They also help remove dry skin cells and prevent wrinkles, but unlike AHA and BHA acids, they act much more gently and slowly.
