How to choose lip makeup
Compare undertones, not just shade names. Decide whether you want a warmer, cooler or more natural-looking shade close to your own lip colour. For example, Vivienne Sabo Le Grand Volume Lip Pencil comes in 02 Warm nude and 03 Cold nude. Compare images of your chosen shade, keeping in mind that your screen and natural lip colour affect how the colour appears.
Consider colour, coverage and shine separately. A similar pink or red shade will look different in matte and glossy makeup. Before choosing, decide whether you want a sheer tint or a bold colour accent, and whether you prefer a matte or glossy look.
Consider where you want to use it. If you want one product for both lips and cheeks, look at formats designed for that purpose, such as FWEE Lip&Cheek Blurry Pudding Pot or Dasique Souffle Color Pot. Don’t automatically assume that a regular lip product is suitable for other areas of your face.
Before you choose
Do you need a lip pencil for every makeup look?
No. It’s useful when you want a more defined lip contour. For a natural-looking result, choose a pencil close to your natural lip colour or lipstick shade; for more definition, you can use a slightly darker shade.
Are lip tints available in smaller sizes too?
Yes, TIRTIR Waterism Glow Tint is listed in 1.8 g and 4.0 g sizes. When choosing the product, pay attention to both the shade and the pack size — these are separate options.
How can you remove lip makeup gently?
Use a makeup remover that is also suitable for the lip area and follow its directions. Remove the colour without vigorous rubbing; if any pigment remains, gently repeat the cleansing step.
